Ian had his novel Knight of Swords published by Old Street Publishing in March this year, and his second novel, All the Stars Electric Bright is due out in the spring next year. His work has been called ‘An exciting and lyrical new voice in fiction. Breckon’s work is thought provoking and intelligent. He is one to watch’ by Mo Hayder.

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009Julia spends increasing chunks of her time writing. She’s on draft two of novel two and thinks this one might be going OK. For the time being, though, she earns her living illustrating and website and graphic designing (see www.juliacollins.co.uk for the pictures). She lives in Hanover with her handsome husband Tim, her three not badlooking children Nel, Owen and Joey and a stunning cat called Monkey.

She is a member of the Horsham Writers’ Circle and is currently studying for an MA in creative writing at Chichester University. This year she won first prize in a poetry competition run by Slipstream Poets, and a poem and a short story were highly commended in the New Writer magazine competition.
Richard Makin
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009Richard Makin is a writer, poet and artist. His novel ‘Dwelling’ is forthcoming from Reality Street Editions. It has been serialized online by Great Works from 2006-09, under the working title of ‘St Leonards’. This is the second book of a trilogy; the first of these, ‘Work’, was also published serially by Great Works between 2003 and 2006. Poems from his long sequence ‘Rift Designs’ are published in ‘The Reality Street Book Of Sonnets’. He also contributed to the anthology ‘FOIL’ (Etruscan Books). Other publication includes ‘Forword’ and ‘Universlipre’, both from Equipage. Many public readings of his work include the Cambridge Conference of Contemporary Poetry. Exhibition of his artwork includes the Institute of Contemprary Art, The Poetry Society, and The Foundry.
Sarah Bleach
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009Sarah escaped to Hastings from Stoke Newington, North London in November last year.
She wrote poetry in her teens and then discovered music and song writing in her early twenties. Last summer while recovering from major surgery, she began having ideas for short stories and is slowly starting to put them down on paper.
She runs a shop called ‘Wombles’ in Courthouse Street Mews in the Old Town as a way of rebuilding her strength and confidence following ten years of ill health. She recently recorded four demos for my her musical project; ‘Kilter’ and is currently working on a short story entitled ‘The Winter Mermaid’.
