Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Submitting stories

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Short Fuse is one of Sussex’s best short fiction nights. Writers of short stories can showcase their work at our live lit nights which take place monthly at Komedia’s Studio Bar in Brighton and at The Rooms Cafe Bar in St Leonards/Hastings.

Stories that are selected to be read are then published on our website, which serves both to promote Short Fuse writers’ work while offering a great read for fans of the short story.

If you want to submit a story please follow the guidelines:

Stories should be between 50-3000 words. Please be aware that we love short stories and read everything sent to us, but unfortunately, due to our high number of submissions and the fact that we run this project on a shoestring budget, we are not always able to get back to everyone. If you haven’t heard after three weeks it probably means we won’t have picked your story this time. But please don’t be put off! Sometimes it’s a matter of how the line-up works for that month. Best approach is to come along and check out the kinds of short stories we do accept.
