Nouvelle Noir - Sunday November 8th - Komedia 8pm

Danny Hogan - will be reading from his debut pulp novel Killer Tease: a modern Noir novella set in Brighton where a psychopathic burlesque dancer takes her violent revenge on a string of venal male characters who discover they may have bitten off more than they could chew.  Hogan is the man behind Pulp Press,  a publishing company which delivers the best and newest in pulp fiction. “From hard boiled crime to rockabilly sleaze via a few Westerns and tales of delinquency”

“A lot of good stories are spoiled because people tried to be too clever writing them. The whole point of pulp is to come out with the same old chestnuts driven by interesting characters. It’s escapism plain and simple” Danny Hogan

Danny will headline a night of contempory Noir short fiction straight from Brighton’s own much loved gutter

The Uncanny Valley - Sunday 6th December

A night of unsettling tales which explore the uncanny with reference to Freud’s famous essay and the notion of the Uncanny Valley and the disturbing presence of technology in a world we try always to understand and control
